This area is a hub for recreation. Whether your goal is visit privately-owned Burgdorf Hot Springs, explore a portion of the 900-mile Idaho Centennial Trail, take a family-friendly hike to Ruby Meadows (#174), or a challenging trail run on the Bear Pete Trail (#142), this area has something for everyone.
To access this area, travel approximately 30 miles north of McCall on the paved Warren Wagon Road (21). Turn left on gravel Forest Road #246. From this junction, continue an additional two mile to the Burgdorf Campground, or an additional three miles to the Jeanette Campground.
The Josephine Lake Trail (#296) is a family-friendly hike, also popular for fly-fishing. This beautiful 13-acre lake is tucked into a granite cirque. The 0.7 mile trail winds along a mountainside and past a small lake offering great views before climbing over a small rise and dropping down to Josephine Lake. The trailhead is located off Forest Road #316, a few miles north of Secesh Summit.
