The Middle Fork Weiser River/Council Mountain Area is on the Council Ranger District. The Middle Fork of the Weiser River is accessed on County Road 186 approximately 5 miles south of Council. The road travels through private lands, then becomes Forest Service Road #186 once entering Forest lands.
Council Mountain can be accessed approximately 3 miles south of Council of County Road 199. This road also travels through private lands before reaching the Forest - once on the Forest, the road is Forest Service Road #199.
The area is checkerboarded with private lands, so be sure to know where you are!
